Pools go in backyards, and backyards are exactly where concrete trucks can't. MetroFlow specialises in pool surround pours — running line over fences, down side access and around finished landscaping to place concrete neatly around your new pool, without undoing the landscaping budget.
The pool surround problem
By the time the surround is ready to pour, your backyard is an obstacle course: the pool shell is in and full (or worse, empty and fragile), the fence is up, the retaining walls are built and half the landscaping is done. Getting 10–20 cubic metres of concrete past all of that is precisely what line pumps were built for. We set the pump at the street, run the line where nothing gets damaged, and place concrete right at the coping edge.
Pool surrounds are also finish-critical. They're usually decorative — exposed aggregate, honed finishes, coloured concrete — and they're poured around a fixed, unforgiving edge. Our operators feed at the pace your finishers set, so the pour tracks evenly around the shell and the coping line stays crisp.
We work with pool builders, landscapers and owner-builders across Melbourne's pool belt — from Cranbourne and Pakenham in the south-east to Werribee and Melton in the west — and we've seen (and solved) every access nightmare a backyard can offer.
More than surrounds
The same reach that gets us to a pool surround handles any backyard pour: alfresco slabs, outdoor kitchen bases, shed slabs behind the house, retaining wall footings, bocce courts and basketball half-courts. If it's behind the fence and needs concrete, we can get it there — usually with a single morning's set-up.

Pool Surrounds FAQs
Can you pump over a 1.8m fence?
Easily. Fences, retaining walls and hedges are everyday obstacles for a line pump — we route up and over with rigid line and protect the fence capping while we're at it.
The pool is already full. Is that OK?
Yes, and honestly it's often better — a full shell is more stable. We keep the line and wash-out well clear of the water either way.
Do you pour the pool shell itself?
We pump for shotcrete and shell pours on some projects — that's usually arranged through your pool builder. For surrounds, coping and decks, book us directly.
How long does a pool surround pour take?
Most are done in 2–4 hours including set-up and wash-down. Your finishers will be on site much longer than we are.
