Our story
Started on the hose,
built on repeat clients
MetroFlow began the way most good trade businesses do: with someone who'd spent years watching the job done badly and decided to do it properly. Dean Mercer put in more than fifteen years operating pumps for other companies before starting MetroFlow — enough time to catalogue every way a pour goes wrong, and to notice that nearly all of them trace back to the same two failures: poor preparation and poor communication.
So that became the business plan. Check access before quoting, not after arriving. Confirm every booking in writing the afternoon before. Turn up before the first truck. Pump at the crew's pace. Wash out into our own containment. Answer the phone. None of it is complicated — the trick is doing it every time, on the two-thousandth job with the same care as the first.
Today MetroFlow runs line and boom pumps across Melbourne and Victoria, for everyone from first-time owner-builders pouring a shed slab to commercial builders running year-long programs. Most of our work comes from repeat clients and referrals, which is the only marketing metric we really track.
